Innovative lace lock system (ClickTight) designed for and by professional runners launched on Kickstarter
AMSTERDAM, April 14th 2014 – ClickTight launched their patented lace lock system on Kickstarter today. Their one click solution to quickly fastening and loosening laces is also created to eliminate loose laces and double knots.
ClickTight’s innovative lace lock system is invented by Jurrien Theuvenet. The original idea came to him after he developed a lace lock system for board shorts on the beaches of Mexico. He quickly realized that his lace lock system could also benefit athletes that currently use double-knots to tie their shoelaces. Back in Amsterdam Jurrien met up with Olympic athlete Hans Koeleman. Together in cooperation with TNO, the premier Dutch Technical Research Institute, they started the development of the best lace lock system for professional runners in the market. The result of this cooperation is a technically outstanding product of which the prototypes have been taken over the finish of the Chinese Wall and Paris Marathon and the Ultra Marathon Comrades in South Africa. The ClickTight solution clenches the laces of athletic shoes. Runners don’t have to replace their laces, as with other solutions, but just slip the ClickTights on (once), and “Click” them tight. Nooit meer veters strikken
AMSTERDAM, 23 April 2014 – Veters: elke dag kost het je toch minimaal een paar minuten van je tijd. Om ze te strikken en om de ongemakkelijke dubbele knoop los te peuteren. Jurriën Theuvenet (33) uit Amsterdam, bedacht de oplossing: ClickTight. Een simpele, fijne innovatie, waarmee je in met één klik je schoenveters vast of los maakt.
“Het werkt echt!” zegt olympisch atleet Hans Koeleman die er zonder problemen de Comrades Marathon van 89 kilometer mee uitliep. Ook Noah Schutte Nederlands kampioen A junioren op de 10 kilometer en tientallen andere hardlopers zijn erg positief over Theuvenets vondst.
Twee jaar geleden kwam Jurriën Theuvenet op het idee, nadat hij tijdens het surfen meerdere malen merkte dat de veters in zijn zwembroek los kwamen. Om gênante situaties te voorkomen en als alternatief voor de dubbele knoop die in zijn buik drukte bedacht hij een systeem die de krachten van de zee kon weerstaan en plat was. Terug in Amsterdam vroegen steeds meer hardloopvrienden of ze de eerste prototypes op hun hardloopschoenen konden gebruiken. Het gebruik op hardloopschoenen beviel zo goed dat hij zich in de doorontwikkeling op het klemmen van schoenveters heeft gefocust.
ClickTight heeft in de finales gestaan van de New Venture Business Plan competitie en de Philips Innovation Awards in 2012. Na twee jaar onderzoek en ontwikkeling, in samenwerking met onder andere TNO, is het product klaar voor productie.
De platte bovenkant van de ClickTight leent zich goed voor een verscheidenheid aan designs. Ze zijn er in verschillende kleuren en passen op alle gangbare sportveters. Er is zelfs een reflecterende variant waarmee je goed zichtbaar bent in het donker en een variant die aan te passen is met een eigen print of afbeelding.
ClickTight is één van de laatste projecten dat via de Amerikaanse route op Kickstarter staat voordat het populaire platform ook in Nederland gelanceerd wordt. Tot en met 19 mei 2014 staat Jurriën met ClickTight op Kickstarter.com. Via crowdsourcing wordt het benodigde bedrag opgehaald om de productie en assemblage van ClickTight voor een groter publiek op te zetten.
